REGISTRATION FORM
 & DEADLINES

The official Champions Cup Registration Form and Team Roster Form are requested for registration if mailing. Registration may also be completed online using Hold Your Spot.   All forms and fees are due by the registration deadline of January 27, 2012.  Any registration and/or fees received after this date will be accessed a $10.00 late fee per gymnast.   A full refund will be given if cancelled in writing by February 10, 2012. Click Here for Registration Form.

COMPETITION FORMAT
The 2012 Champions Cup will consist of a modified traditional format for all levels of competition. 
 MODIFIED TRADITIONAL FORMAT (warm-up; compete):  The open stretch, timed warm-ups and competition are conducted in one gym in which there is only one set of apparatus. The timed warm-ups immediately precede competition on each event (this format eliminates the requirement of a 30-second touch warm-up).

TEAM COMPETITION
Registration for the team competition is $45.00 per team per level per session as indicated on the Official Registration Form.  Team rankings will be determined by the total of the top three (3) scores from each event for each team registered.  There is no designation of team members unless clubs enter more than one team.  1st - 3rd team awards and team banners for 1st place teams will be given.

CHAMPIONS CUP TEAM CHALLENGE

The Champions Cup Team Challenge is a special overall team competition where teams may designate 3 gymnasts on each event in 3 different levels for a total team score.  A special Champions Cup and team banner will be awarded to the team with the highest team total.  Three (3) categories will be offered - Compulsory, Optional and Combined.  You must have a minimum of 3 compulsory levels to participate in the Compulsory Team Challenge, 3 optional levels for the Optional Team Challenge and 2 compulsory and 2 optional for the Combined Team Challenge.  An additional $45.00 per category team fee will apply to participate in this special overall team competition.

AWARDS
INDIVIDUAL - ALL participants of The Champions Cup will receive an all-around medal and be recognized on the awards stand.  Placement awards will be given for all levels.  The R&P recommended age groups will be used as a guideline however age groups may be broken down further depending on the number registered in each age group in each session.  Placement awards will be given to a minimum of half the number of participants in each age group.
SPECIAL 1ST PLACE ALL-AROUND AWARD – All 1st place All-Around winners will receive a Gym-Kin Gift Certificate to be redeemed at the Gym-Kin booth on site. TEAM - Team awards will be awarded to 100% of teams for all sessions and all levels.  A Champions Cup banner will be awarded to all 1st place teams.  CHAMPIONS CUP – A special Champions Cup trophy and team banner as well as a special gift to all designated team members will be given to the Champions Cup Team Challenge winners. 

AUXILIARY TRAINING
Auxiliary training will be available at Westside Gymnastics on Friday, February 2 2012.  Please email lbarclay@thechampionscup.info or call 317.891.8260 for more information.  Auxiliary training will not be available at the competition venue.
 
 

EQUIPMENT
All equipment will be supplied by American Athletic, Inc.  Any specific equipment questions should be directed to the equipment representative on site.  

 

 

MEDICAL
Certified Athletic Trainers will be onsite for all optional competition for taping, ice and medical supplies.

MISCELLANEOUS COMPETITION DETAILS

A.    All current rules of USA Gymnastics J.O. Program will be used for all levels of competition.

B. Teams with more than 18 gymnasts per level will be split into 2 sessions not competing at the same time. Coaches may determine their own split. Please submit split on theam roster. 

C. Teams with 14-17 gymnasts will be split into 2 different squads in one session requiring  a minimum of 2 coaches for that session. Coaches may determine their own split. Please indicate split on team roster.

D.   Floor Exercise Music - CD and MP3 players will be accepted.  Audio equipment will not be available for cassette tapes.  Coaches are responsible for giving the Music Coordinator the start cue.  All Floor Exercise music must be clearly marked with the Athlete’s first name, last name and team name.
